Inspired by Japanese culture and the expression “Mottainai”, I decided to upcycle a jacket a friend was throwing away. The phrase conveys a sense of regret over waste,–“Mottainai” literally translates to “what a waste”. I added a patch to this Levi’s denim jacket covering the previous design with Kanji characters that translate to “plant princess”, which expresses my love for plants.
