Example of Recharge Station

Recharge Station

Similar to Nap Cabs, the Recharge Station would be a small unit where you could decompress; recharging yourself and your devices. Sometimes we have the need to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. These stations would utilize renewable energy sources from built in solar panels on the roof, water and wind energy and the attached tourist attraction would harness power for the station by using mechanical energy. In the efforts of making this a completely self-sufficient venue. Each station would be connected to a tourist feature that would harness some of this energy; think for example, of pedaling on a bike and the mechanical energy that is created while pedaling would partly power and charge your devices and this station.

Unlike Nap Cab’s located in airports, these stations would be located in busy tourist destinations in or around plaza’s and parks of the set city. Example locations such as; Museumplein, Spui, or Vondelpark in Amsterdam. For example, Amsterdam’s renewable energy feature would be a bike carousel system that would lift you in the air, while peddling. These stations would permit people to use this as a refreshment point before engaging in other activities. This station would provide an interesting way to create renewable energy. The tourist attraction feature that works as part of this renewable power source, would differ in functionality and design depending on its location in the city or country.
